Led by bestselling Berkley Prime Crime and Harlequin author Allie Pleiter, who has over 50 books and over 1.4 million books sold world wide!

Readers love a series. Agents love series. Both indie authors and publishers know that a well-connected series can gain loyal fans and increase sales. Series also create opportunities for those “extras” that can serve as lead magnets, give-aways, fan bonuses, and promotional tools.

Bestselling author Allie Pleiter, who has written over 50 books including seven series for both traditional and independent publishing, shares the secrets of crafting a great series. Whether you’re proposing it to a publisher or utilizing a series to power up your indie career, you’ll come away with tactics to help you succeed well beyond one book.

This online class will cover:

  • Capitalizing on the advantages of a series
  • The different ways to structure a series
  • Single author and multi author possibilities
  • Building a plot arc strong enough to support a series
  • Handing off from one book to another

This class is entirely asynchronous which means you complete the weekly assignments on your own schedule. There are no set meeting times in order to allow for greater participation; your cohort will consist of writers from across different time zones, which allows for a wonderful diversity of voices.

Along with your weekly deadlines there is plenty of interaction with your instructor and your peers within Wet Ink, our dedicated online classroom. Craft materials, lectures, reading assignments, and writing prompts are all available through the online classroom. Students also post work and provide and receive feedback within the online classroom environment.

You can get the work done as you see fit week-to-week, so it is perfect for any schedule. There are discussion questions each week inspired by the assigned readings and topics in the lecture notes. Students are encouraged to take these wherever is most compelling and/or useful for them. Your instructor engages with these discussions throughout the week and you will receive feedback from all assigned writing activities.

Wet Ink was built and designed specifically for online writing classes. Wet Ink is private, easy to use, and very interactive. You can learn more about the Wet Ink platform by Watching a Class Demo.

“Implementing the Chunky Method has charged my writing with confidence, quadrupled my productivity, organized my days, and enhanced my enjoyment of life. Allie is my hero!” — Linda H.

"I was overwhelmed, but now I feel fantastic” — Michelle S.

"Before The Chunky Method, I spent years worrying about how I was ever going to finish my novel, let alone a series of stories, with a busy schedule and a demanding day job. I feel far more confident now, and the method works - it's my custom method, after all. I've already written far more than before the Chunky Method." — M.V.

"I feel empowered. I feel much more in control of the process now. I feel good that I have a plan and schedule that work with me. I feel like I am going to achieve success, and in a timely manner instead of a scattered one. Thank you again for some of the most valuable, and applicable information I've received in over fourteen years of conferences and online classes."  - Becki
