Led by Award-winning children's author Rosie J. Pova, who also teaches our popular Writing Picture Books: From Creation to Publication 8-Week Online Workshop! Rosie's books include Sunday Rain, If I Weren't With You, Sarah's Song and her upcoming picture book, The School of Failure: A Story about Success (spring 2022). Rosie's work was also recently featured in The New York Times.

Do you want to infuse your stories with more heart? How can you make your writing sweet and heartfelt, but avoid the saccharine zone? What makes a story heartfelt anyway?

This 45-min webinar will explore the elements that give stories that edge, the power to tug at the reader's heartstrings, and stay with you long after you've closed the book. The workshop will also offer tips and practical advice on how to write stories with heart as we use mentor texts and pinpoint the right ingredients of a heartfelt story. A handout is included with a long list of titles to use as additional mentor texts.

Your ticket for this workshop is only $10, but we ask that you purchase two (2) copies of Sunday Rain either from Amazon, Barnes & Noble or your favorite indie bookstore.

After you pay to join the seminar, all you have to do is email your receipt/proof of purchase to Blake@writingworkshopsdallas.com to secure your spot. You will need to have one copy of Sunday Rain handy to use during the Zoom webinar, and give the other one as a gift (to a teacher, niece, nephew, your friend's child, Christmas present etc.--you decide). It's a win/win for spreading some joy and supporting an author.

You can also follow a series of blog posts from one of Rosie's former students as she starts to query agents with her picture book, developed in this class.

STUDENTS LOVE ROSIE'S CLASSES!

"My experience with Rosie J. Pova as my mentor has been unbelievably helpful. I am a mom and preschool teacher who has had stories and ideas swimming in my head for over a decade. I felt like I just needed the tools to make my stories come together and (maybe one day) get published. Rosie's knowledge of children's writing and the traditional publishing industry has been invaluable to me. She has truly helped pull these stories out of my head and pushed me to write them on paper in a way that I haven't done before. Her 8-week course that I took was also incredibly helpful to break down step by step "how-to" to accomplish this very daunting task of writing children's books. I feel very confident in her process and I hopefully will be one of her true success stories! I cannot recommend working with Rosie enough. If you do the work she assigns and follow what she recommends, you will come out of the mentorship with polished stories you can be proud of. I cannot thank her enough for her support." --Blair W.
