She is the winner of \u003cem\u003eNew Ohio Review\u003c\/em\u003e's Nonfiction Prize, \u003cem\u003eLascaux Review's\u003c\/em\u003e Nonfiction Prize, and \u003cem\u003eCutBank's \u003c\/em\u003eMontana Prize in Nonfiction, awarded by Cheryl Strayed. Her essay, \"I Am No Beekeeper\" was selected as Notable in \u003cem\u003eBest American Essays\u003c\/em\u003e 2024. Other essays and stories have been published in \u003cem\u003eFourth Genre, Bellevue Literary Review, Columbia Journal, Gertrude\u003c\/em\u003e, and elsewhere. Arya holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Mills College, and her work has received support from Ragdale Foundation, Monson Arts, Marble House Project, Straw Dog \/ The Mount at Edith Wharton, Massachusetts Cultural Council, Virginia Creative Colony for the Arts, Vermont Studio Center, and Juniper Summer Writing Institute. Arya teaches and works as a developmental editor and creative coach, helping writers unearth the deeper story.
