NOW ENROLLINGTaught by Courtney Cook, whose graphic memoir, THE WAY SHE FEELS, is forthcoming from Tin House Books in summer 2021.
NOTE: This is a class of nonfiction dealing with mental illness and the readings we will discuss in class deal with difficult and traumatic human experiences. Creative nonfiction, especially memoir, often takes a hard look at the unpleasant sides of human experience including eating disorders, loss, substance abuse, and assault. This is something you need to be prepared for in reading, discussing, and (perhaps) writing nonfiction.
