Taught by Evan Fleischer, a writer, editor, and teacher. He has written for The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Guardian, and numerous other publications. He has a MFA from Emerson College. Evan's sketches have been performed at Dynasty Typewriter, among other venues.

If you're looking for a place to write sketches, talk about sketches, and offer feedback to others to make their own sketches better -- all while watching other sketches for inspiration -- then this is the writing workshop for you.

In this 6-Week Comedy Sketch Writing Workshop, you'll receive the personalized attention and guidance you need to take your comedy writing to the next level. Whether you're a seasoned writer or new to the craft, this workshop is designed to help you develop your skills, sharpen your wit, and create sketches that are both hilarious and memorable.

Throughout the course, you'll have the opportunity to work closely with instructor Evan Fleischer, a seasoned comedy writer and performer. Evan will provide you with the tools and techniques you need to write sketches that are both funny and effective, including how to identify comedic premises, develop characters, and structure your sketches for maximum impact.

You'll also learn how to pitch your sketches to decision makers, and how to navigate the competitive world of comedy writing. By the end of the workshop, you'll have a portfolio of polished sketches that showcase your unique comedic voice, and the skills and confidence you need to keep pushing your comedic work forward.

  • Students will learn how to workshop their work, write for specific actors, and more.

  • You're finding the constraints of your current writing practice too limiting.
  • You want exposure to a range of new approaches to bring to your writing practice.
  • You want an expanded sense of what is possible in your work in 2023 and beyond!
