Do you struggle with crafting and structuring your children's story? Do you wish you had more clarity on how to make your story strong? Are you stuck with your writing and unsure how to take it to the next level?
If you're passionate about writing your children's book but need guidance, professional feedback, and the right tools to get unstuck and turn you story idea into a strong manuscript, this workshop can help.
You'll learn the six must-have building blocks of writing a picture book and will also receive guidance on implementing them into your own writing, along with accountability and feedback from Rosie.
By the end of this class, you'll come out with a finished and polished draft of the children's story you're passionate about, and ready to share it with the world!

You can also follow a series of blog posts from one of Rosie's former students as she starts to query agents with her picture book.
STUDENTS LOVE ROSIE'S CLASSES!

"I am learning so much in your class. I told my daughter that I have learned more with you in the past two weeks than I did as a member of a regional children's book group for two years!" --Ellen K.
"My experience with Rosie J. Pova as my mentor has been unbelievably helpful. I am a mom and preschool teacher who has had stories and ideas swimming in my head for over a decade. I felt like I just needed the tools to make my stories come together and (maybe one day) get published. Rosie's knowledge of children's writing and the traditional publishing industry has been invaluable to me. She has truly helped pull these stories out of my head and pushed me to write them on paper in a way that I haven't done before. Her 8-week course that I took was also incredibly helpful to break down step by step "how-to" to accomplish this very daunting task of writing children's books. I feel very confident in her process and I hopefully will be one of her true success stories! I cannot recommend working with Rosie enough. If you do the work she assigns and follow what she recommends, you will come out of the mentorship with polished stories you can be proud of. I cannot thank her enough for her support." --Blair W.
"Having Rosie J. Pova as a mentor was worth every penny. Her constructive feedback, encouragement, and infectious enthusiasm allowed me to produce three polished manuscripts and queries. Her knowledge of the craft set me on a positive path. Based on years of experience, she shared many important insights into the writing business. Rosie’s love of the children for whom she writes, shines through--and she’s willing to pass it on."  —Virginia B.

ONLINE COURSE STRUCTURE:

This class is entirely asynchronous which means you complete the weekly assignments on your own schedule. There are no set meeting times in order to allow for greater participation; your cohort will consist of writers from across different time zones, which allows for a wonderful diversity of voices.

Along with your weekly deadlines there is plenty of interaction with Rosie and your peers within Wet Ink, our dedicated online classroom. Craft materials, lectures, reading assignments, and writing prompts are all available through the online classroom. Students also post work and provide and receive feedback within the online classroom environment.

You can get the work done as you see fit week-to-week, so it is perfect for any schedule. There are discussion questions each week inspired by the assigned readings and topics in the lecture notes. Students are encouraged to take these wherever is most compelling and/or useful for them. Rosie engages with these discussions throughout the week and you will receive feedback from all assigned writing activities.
