Taught by Meg Eden, a 2020 Pitch Wars mente and the author of five poetry chapbooks, the novel Post-High School Reality Quest (2017), the poetry collection Drowning in the Floating World (2020), and the forthcoming novel-in-verse Good Different, a JLG Gold Standard Selection (Scholastic, 2023). She is also a participating author with the PEN/Faulkner Writers in Schools program.

In this 4 week one-on-one mentorship program, Meg Eden Kuyatt will support you through the submitting process, providing suggestions on how to find and read literary magazines, as well as providing personalized feedback and encouragement along the way.

  • Readings will be tailored to each mentee

ONLINE COURSE STRUCTURE:

Except for the one-on-one meeting with Meg, this class is entirely asynchronous which means you complete the weekly assignments on your own schedule.
Within Wet Ink, our dedicated online classroom, Meg will provide tips and information on how to submit, how to find magazines and other important aspects of the submission process.
Each week writers will be asked to submit at least 1 submission packet, accompanied by names of publications where they would like to send. Meg will provide personalized feedback on each packet (4 total) and also advise regarding which publication might be the perfect fit!
There will be one scheduled call between Meg and you. On this call, Meg will learn more about the challenges you are facing, your writing goals and try to guide you through the submission obstacles you may be facing.
