Congratulations to Pamela Spradlin Mahajan, whose novel Skye, Revised was recently published.

Pamela took our publishing seminar with Blake Kimzey and we couldn't be more excited for her!

Congratulations, Pamela! We can't wait to read your new novel!

About Skye, Revised:

After being humiliated on a reality singing show, PR assistant Skye Peters is merely existing. She's beyond bored with her life, including her well-meaning but clueless boyfriend, Teddy. While hiding in a closet to avoid Teddy's attempted marriage proposal, Skye is inexplicably shot by a masked intruder. When she awakens, she finds herself in a strange reality where she is a famous pop star with millions of fans and a sexy Scottish husband. Life seems idyllic at first, but the cracks rapidly begin to appear. Skye seeks solace in Teddy, but he doesn't know her in this new world. Will she get a second chance at her old life or is she destined to be stuck in a reality she doesn't want?

Describe your work (influences, interests, etc.) and what you're working on now:

My short stories tend to be literary and focused on imperfect female heroines in less than ideal situations. My debut novel combines women's fiction with magical realism and a hint of romance. I just finished a Christmas novella. I am currently working on marketing efforts for my debut novel, Skye, Revised.

What are your short term (1 year) and long term writing goals (5 years from now)?

In the short term, I want to complete another novel this year. Five years from now, I would like to have several books, editorials, and short stories published and have a literary agent.

What class(es) did you take/are you taking with Writing Workshops?

Publishing in Literary Journals with Blake Kimzey.

What did you enjoy most about your class(es) with Writing Workshops?

The fact that it was on demand and that Blake shared all of the data and insights of his own personal publishing path, especially that a lot of rejection is part of the process.
