If you have a completed book manuscript and are ready to start submitting, check out the list of 11 publishers ready to read your work in the list below. No agent needed! Polish your manuscript and submit it to one of these great publishers and find your readership (and, if you're looking for a class in fiction, poetry, nonfiction, or screenwriting, we've got you covered):

Amsterdam Publishers is an independent publisher based in the Netherlands specializing in WW2 memoirs and biographies, as well as books written by Holocaust survivors, an effort which has made them the biggest international publisher of Holocaust memoirs and biographies in Europe.

Severn River Press operates on the same principle but publishes historical fiction, as well as mysteries and thrillers.

Small Town Girl, an imprint from Brother Mockingbird Press, only publishes fiction and nonfiction that takes place in or is about the 80’s.

SmartPop wants smart, quirky, engaging non-fiction titles on television, books, and film.

Eraserhead Press is a small publisher based out of Portland, Oregon that focuses on publishing Bizarro fiction. Be sure you are familiar with the genre before submitting. They are not interested in any work that cannot be categorized as Bizarro.

Torrey House Press wants well-crafted work with environmental, natural history, or natural landscape themes, and writing which explores the value of well-managed public lands and the transformative power of wilderness focusing on the intermountain west. Submission information here

Kaya Press publishes literature being produced throughout the Asia Pacific Diaspora.

Haymarket Books publishes manuscripts that connect with progressive and radical political activists, while being useful to an academic audience.

Uproar Books only publishes epic fantasy and science fiction for adults and young adults, and they are only interested in publishing series of books (although only the first one needs to be completed when you submit).

The Feminist Press was established as an independent nonprofit literary publisher in 1970. The Feminist Press is the oldest women’s publishing house in the world. They are open to submission from female/female identifying, and non-binary authors.

Oceanview Publishing publishes mystery and thrillers and only accepts work by unagented and unsolicited authors who have traditionally published a previous book.
