What is your process for sending work out? If you're just sitting on finished work but haven't yet invested the time to figure out how to start submitting it for publication with care and purpose, now is the time.

We agree with this article that you should aim for 100 rejections every year. And Tony Tulathimutte has written a great article called Pitching and Moaning as a guide for submitting your writing.

One of the most helpful handouts out there on submitting your work is this PDF created by Aubrey Hirsch and available here.

If you'd like a deep dive and even a guide, we have a seminar coming up called Publishing in Literary Journals to Launch Your Career, which can help get you started.

If you're looking for a literary agent check out this free guide. And, if you want to go straight to independent presses with your manuscript, look at this list.

If you're on Twitter, agent Cassie Mannes Murray has this advice: Search "Query, agent" in your Twitter search bar and go to people and you'll find a whole bunch of people who are looking for queries AND you can research through their tweets and websites. Same goes for pitches, search "pitch, editor" and "call for submissions"

Our entire goal at Writing Workshops is to offer classes that help you grow as a writer. We want to help you master the craft, connect with writers, and find a path to publication.

So, think about joining us for a seminar or multi-week class. We'd love to help get you to the next step in your writing journey.
