Alumni Spotlight: Corrie Clements

Today, we're catching up with Corrie Clements. She is originally from Las Vegas, Nevada and now lives in Central New York. We're thrilled to announce Corrie's first ever publication is coming out in Evergreen Review this Spring and she is currently working on a full-length memoir based on her personal essay, The Traveling Sausage.
Corrie has taken James Tate Hill’s Memoir/Essay (twice), 30 poems in 30 days with Sarah Carson, Jill Talbot’s Writing the Road, and was part of Diana Spechler's nonfiction cohort at Writing Workshops Hawaii 2022! Corrie says, "I loved working with Diana Spechler in Hawaii. She is so knowledgeable and down to earth. Working with her feels like you have a successful big sister who’s willing to spill all her secrets and tips. Oh—and did I mention we were in Hawaii!"
Corrie is currently working on a full-length memoir and looks to classic and contemporary literature with strong female characters when she needs inspiration. She loves writing because it helps people express themselves and share their experiences, which brings people closer.
In the coming year Corrie would like to publish more personal essays and also finish and publish her memoir. She is also considering going back and getting her MFA.

Thank you for letting us be part of your writing journey, Corrie! Congratulations on your first publication. We're excited to read more and are rooting for you!
