Class Proposals for Fall 2022 are Now Open!

by Writing Workshops Staff

Submit early for priority consideration for the Fall 2022 schedule.

If you haven't yet taught at Writing Workshops, please familiarize yourself with our previous/current course offerings before submitting.

If we are interested in offering your class, we will be in touch with you.

COURSE OFFERINGS

We offer several kinds of courses that you can propose:

  • One-time Zoom seminars on the craft and/or business of writing
  • Live Multi-week workshops (using Zoom)
  • Asynchronous Multi-week workshops (using Wet Ink)
  • One-on-one mentorship programs
  • On-demand, video recorded courses (using Thinkific)

SELECTION CRITERIA

We consider teaching experience, publication history, and student testimonials. We want all new classes to fit within our current programming needs, including balance of genre, skill-level, and class-type (one-time seminar, multi-week workshop, one-on-one mentorship, on-demand class, etc.).

COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

Your course description should tell us what the class is about, why the topic is worth investigating, what's going to happen (generative writing? workshopping? discussion?), and specifically what students can expect to come away with. When submitting a course proposal, we are interested in the gaps you see in our current schedule of classes. We're wildly interested in your unique knowledge and viewpoint. We can't help but be drawn to fresh, weird ideas and classes that haven't yet been offered. Indeed, we want all kinds of classes. Let your imagination run free. Courses for beginning writers, or folks who don't even think of themselves as writers are encouraged.

COURSE SYLLABUS

A course syllabus is required for all classes that have three or more meetings. If your course proposal is accepted we will be happy to share example syllabi with you if needed.

PAY RATE

We pay 50/50 of net course revenue for all course offerings. For most classes, we set enrollment at a minimum of five. Instructors generally determine their cap/maximum student enrollment.

APPLICATION

If you're ready to apply, please fill out a course proposal as completely as possible via our Google Form Here.

Questions? Get in touch via our contact form. Thanks so much for considering us as a home for your online classes! We look forward to hearing from you!
