Congratulations to J. Eric. Smith and his writing partner, Rear Admiral James R. McNeal!
Mark Gottlieb at Trident Media Group recently sold their new book, Crucibles: How Formidable Rites of Passage Shape the World’s Most Elite Organizations, pitched as Amanda Montell's CULTISH and Lauren Hough's LEAVING ISN'T THE HARDEST THING, exploring the arduous initiation rituals of elite organizations—and the ways in which would-be initiates willingly push themselves to their breaking points and beyond—while striving to enter the worlds of the most secretive and powerful insiders, to Doug Seibold at Agate.
Eric and Mark met on at our 2023 Hawai'i Workshop and the rest, as they say, is history! Congratulations, Eric and James! We're so excited for you and can't wait to read this new book!
You can read Eric's full accounting of the Workshop in Hawai'i in a post he wrote detailing the experience here.
And be sure to pre-order Crucibles here.
