Workshop alum EG Shields, who studied with Chloe Caldwell in our Paris Nonfiction Workshop, has a very moving illustrative narrative published in Arkana Magazine.
You can read EG's beautiful piece, Grief Is An Ocean, here.
We're excited to see this stirring piece published in a great literary journal! Congrats, EG! We can't wait to read more of your work.
EG Shields is an Appalachian-born writer and graphic memoirist. Based in Brooklyn, she can usually be found daydreaming about the mountains and looking for green spaces. A graduate of the New School’s MFA program, her work has been featured in the Reader’s Write section of The Sun magazine, The Rumpus, and Barely South Review.
Arkana is the graduate-run literary journal of the University of Central Arkansas. This online literary magazine launched its inaugural issue in November 2016. Our publication is staffed and edited by students in the Arkansas Writers’ MFA Program and accepts submissions from artists worldwide.
