Erica is no stranger to the art of crafting words that transcend the ordinary. As the author of the award-winning collection, Samsara, and a graduate of an MFA program at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, she brings incredible experience and perspective to the classroom.

Instructor Dr. Erica Anzalone is the award-winning author of Samsara, which Cole Swensen praises as “a poetry of deft yet wild shifts, of ripening nimbuses, and hummed haloes” and Claudia Keelan calls the poems in this collection “as hilarious as they are suffering.” Erica holds an MFA in poetry from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop at the University of Iowa and a doctorate in English from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas, where she was awarded a Schaeffer fellowship. With over eighteen years of teaching experience at the college level, Erica is an expert in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment students love as one raves, “Erica’s classes have boosted my confidence and filled my well of creativity.” Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in Autofocus Literary Magazine, The Colorado Review, Hotel Amerika, Cream City Review, Juked, Pangyrus, Denver Quarterly, The Literary Review, The Offending Adam, Pleiades, Sentence, UCity Review, and elsewhere.
