After winning Project Greenlight and co-directing THE BATTLE OF SHAKER HEIGHTS, Kyle Rankin directed INFESTATION for Mel Gibson, NUCLEAR FAMILY for Michael Eisner, and created the viral videos Case Tape #347 and Exhibit B-5. In 2015, he crowdfunded NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEB (Amazon Prime), and used the same creation model for 2018's THE WITCH FILES (Netflix). His seventh feature, RUN HIDE FIGHT, premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2020, and his latest, THE ROUGHNECK, will debut in 2025.

In this class, you will learn everything about movie scripts from 'fade in' to 'fade out.' You'll explore and discuss idea creation, story structure, formatting, feedback, rewriting, and much more.

Over six sessions, we'll study all the major story structure paradigms... so you can integrate and then forget them.

We'll cover proper formatting, the pros and cons of outlining, opening and closing images, surviving Act Two, midpoints and mirror moments.

Students can plan on tackling their screenplay once the class is over... or be writing their first one AS WE GO. No matter where students find themselves in their script-writing journey, in this class, they'll have the benefit of knowing their instructor will be drafting an original script DURING the 6 week class, and he'll be sharing the pain points and real-time problem solving in weekly updates.

Every class will end with a 45 minute Q&A, during which students will have the option to have their pages critiqued by the instructor and classmates.
