It is great to hear from workshop alum Andria Kennedy, who has several publications forthcoming! Andria will have work appear in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Lessons Learned From My Cat, Song of the Siren anthology, and a new piece in Existential Hologram anthology coming out later this year.
Andria Kennedy always has words on the brain. She works as a freelance content writer, working her essay and speculative fiction writing into the remaining hours of the day. Her essays have also appeared in Open Minds Quarterly, The Doe (now NOTA), Electric Lit, HuffPost Personal, and Points in Case.

Describe your work (influences, interests, etc.) and what you're working on now.
My brain drifts to the strange and unusual (blame it on overactive imagination. I can't see things from the ordinary angles. Probably why I prefer to dabble in hermit crab essays and speculative fiction. I'm currently working with Constantine Singer on the first book of a YA fantasy trilogy that blends the fairy tale "The Goose Girl" with the aesthetic of "Stranger Things."
What are your short term (1 year) and long term writing goals (5 years from now)?
In the short term, I plan to complete my YA novel (drafted, edited, and revised) so I can begin submitting it for agency representation. My long-term goals are to finish the remaining two books in the trilogy, as well as beginning to work on the YA sci-fi series. (Vampiric, telepathic kinkajous - tell me you aren't dying to know more!) I also have plans to publish my essay collection: satirical views on living with invisible illness.
What class(es) did you take/are you taking with Writing Workshops?
What did you enjoy most about your class(es) with Writing Workshops?
I am a one-on-one person. I engage well when I can talk with a person and present my questions. Having the opportunity to sit down and receive honest feedback on my work is beyond compare.
